FC Pune City vs Chennaiyin FC, Match 28, means that the top place is up for grab. The team that wins will displace Atletico de Kolkata from the conquering position, automatically becoming the table topper. Chennai have displayed commendable performance throughout the League while Pune have just started to show their potential. Pune had an advantage as it was their home game. Chennai started their game by pushing Pune's defence and acquired a corner. Valencia tried to score with his left foot but the Keeper saved the home team. Gurung created an opportunity in the right wing and Katsouranis capitalized it in the home team's favour. Pune gained lead within nine minutes of the game. Chennai was on charge to find an equalizer and in a haphazard manner Elano failed to score from a penalty. This was definitely not expected from a player who is running for the Golden Boot award. Pole saved Pune as Valencia misjudged the shot. Valencia attempted again but Arindham stretched to deny him. Cirillo ran into Valencia to receive a yellow card. The second half opened with Valencia 's yet another on target
attempt. Dhana came to Chennai's rescue when Dudu was trying to ensure his
team's victory. Anupam Sarkar for Lenny. Silvestre's great defending. With
Balwant's assist, Valencia finally opened Chennai's account. The away team
looked confident after scoring the equaliser and tried to increase their goal count
even further. Cirillo was relieved by Andre. Both the teams looked unsettled
with the score and came up with countless attacks but the game ended with one

Our 'Hero of the Match', for the second time, is John Stiven Mendoza Valencia. The Colombian forward was his team's star player for the night. Numerous on target attempts and the equalizer won the 22 years old player Fittest player's tag as well.
